Futon Firmness Options

All futon mattresses are somewhat firm, but unlike our modular latex mattresses, they do not follow a numbered firmness scale. Instead, each futon’s feel is defined by its natural materials and traditional construction. From the resilient support of latex-blend futons to the minimalist firmness of a Japanese shikibuton and the dense, time-honoured comfort of all-cotton designs, every futon offers a distinct balance of cushioning and stability. These natural, hand-tufted mattresses are crafted to deliver versatile comfort.

Latex Futon (Softest)
Our softest futon option, this breathable and supportive futon features organic latex layers in a cotton cover. Offers responsive comfort with gentle cushioning, making it ideal for daily sleeping or long-term sitting support. Great choice for those who want a durable, resilient futon with natural materials.

All-Cotton Futon
Classic futon construction using layers of raw cotton batting for a dense, supportive feel. Over time, it compresses into a firm, stable base. Perfect for purists seeking an all-natural, traditional futon mattress for lounging or occasional sleeping.

Shikibuton (Firmest)
A traditional Japanese-style floor mattress that’s thin, firm, and versatile. Designed to be placed directly on a tatami mat or solid surface, it rolls up easily for storage. Best for minimalists or those who prefer a firmer, portable sleeping surface.
